Whatever task involved it’s essential to follow the manufacturers guidelines appropriate to their materials. Preparation with the correct material, tools and procedures is so important.
- When using resins, catalysed fillers, stoppers, and cleaning cellulose thinners, wear gloves and have good ventilation. These materials are flammable!
- Glass fibre mat is also an irritant to one’s skin, very unpleasant if you get matting on one’s face or arms.
- Do not use these materials were there is direct heat, it’s very dangerous
- Always store these materials in an outside secure cabinet which is not accessible to children
I’m sure proficient people who have good DIY skills will be aware of these areas of safety. If not, just ask for help and guidance before embarking on tasks that require a certain level of skill / experience.
