The original hatch front panel to the Lazerette on the Mk 2 models was a fibreglass piece often referred to as a ‘Tea tray’. Not a special fitting in its design or manufacture. There was an odd latch / locking bar fitted and fingers of glass fibre on the bottom edge to locate in on the Lazerette face. Katerina did not come with an existing hatch, and if it had it would have been disposed of it in preference to the ones designed and manufactured by Dragon Design.
It has a rebate section rail bonded to the inside lower edge of the hatch, this neatly locates on the upstand edge of the face of the Lazerette. To secure it we fit a very clean and neat turnbuckle attachment. We machine these hatch covers out of 6 mm MR MDF. It’s lightweight and moisture resistant, with 2 spray coats of a primer/filler and ready for the customer to apply their own colour finish.
The hatch cover in a spray primer finish, comes complete with the turnbuckle set and small machine screws ready to pop into place
