After providing Pam with lots of joinery and parts for her Lugger “KingFisher”she has had regular contact with myself for help and support with the ongoing completion of KingFisher. Themost recent question posed was about getting a small amount of water seepage in the aft compartment causing things to be standing in the water in the bilge bottom.

Sadly, realistically, water seepage into the bilge is inevitable. So, what we have done at JLL is to produce a suspended floor section for both the early Mk1 Luggers and the later Mk2 and 3. Once presented with this solution Pam immediately ordered this pack. Due to this being made in the JLL workshop and on the shelf it was quickly dispatched and received by Pam 2 days later which is the service we strive to achieve.
After delivery Pam enquired on fitting and finishing. The suggestion made to Pam was the finish used on our own Dragon Drascomb charter Fleet so we can vouch for the durability and effectiveness. Prep with 180 sandpaper and give them a 2 coats of water based acrylic primer, then a coat of oil based white gloss. To finish the top surface I use an Interdeck Deck Paint 289 to give a little non slip.

The 2 supporting rails fit against the rudder casing wall, one on each side with the wider end forward. Using a waterproof adhesive to stick these rails to the rudder plate casing.
This outstanding customer service has helped Pam with her issue both with speed of service and a personal response to help with fitting and finishing. We like to go all the way to helping our customers get the products they need and help with fitting and finishing all at a very reasonable price. This way our customers can achieve excellent results with quality hand made products.
